Just four months after adopting a child from Uganda, the „Die A Happy Man“ singer and his wife Lauren welcomed baby daughter Ada James Akins on Saturday.
„Last night at 10: 28 PM Ada James Akins was born and it was truly the most amazing thing I have ever experienced, “ Rhett announced on Instagram, with a sweet picture of mother and daughter. „I can’t believe that we have two daughters!! My wife labored almost 36 hours. She is by far the strongest human being I have ever met and I have a new found respect for moms around the world.“
Lauren also took to Instagram to announce the happy news, and revealed that baby Ada weighs 7 pounds, 3 ounces and „is so stinking cute I just can’t take it!“

The family’s latest bundle of joy comes several months after the couple adopted 21-month-old Willa Gray from Uganda in May after meeting the tot through the organization 147 Million Orphans.
Rhett and Lauren revealed both their pregnancy and their decision to adopt in the same February announcement, as they’d found out Lauren was expecting just after they’d begun filling out adoption paperwork.
„We tried to get pregnant for a little bit before. It was a good chunk of time and our family is extremely fertile, so I was expecting it to happen easily, “ Lauren told People. „I was like, ‚Maybe this is the Lord’s way of telling me adoption is what he wants me to do.‘ And I was okay with that… It’s funny to me how we tried so hard and then we didn’t try at all and it happened!“
Since becoming parents, Rhett and his wife have documented their lives with baby Willa on Instagram, including an adorable family photo shoot in July.
