The fourth annual Long Beach Indie International Film, Media and Music Festival returns this week with a lineup that includes dozens of feature length films, shorts, music videos, student films, web series, documentaries, horror and other flicks.
It happens Wednesday to Sunday at the Cinemark at the Pike Theater, 99 S. Pine Ave.
The festival includes a media and music conference as well as a career fair for those interested in entering the business.
The films kick off at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the opening night films “Bridging Emcee, ” which follows female emcees from the San Francisco Bay Area as they try to make it in the traditionally male-dominated genre.
Also opening the festival is “Soy Cubana, ” a short documentary about the Vocal Vidas, a female a capella quartet from Santiago de Cuba.
The festival closes at 6 p.m. Sunday with an Awards Gala at the Hilton Long Beach Hotel, where awards are handed in categories that include Best Comedic Short, Best Narrative Feature and others.
