We have seen/heard some of these smartphone giants launching their latest phablets this year, Shenzhen-based, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd launched the P10, P10 Plus, P10 Lite, e.t.c, South Korean-based, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd launched the Galaxy S8 and S+, Galaxy Note 8, and finally Cupertino-based, Apple Inc. who launched its anticipated iPhone 8 and iPhone 8+ alongside the iPhone X which caught the spot at the launch event that was held on 12th September at their new campus dubbed, the Steve Jobs Theater.
Now, Mountain View based internet firm; Google Inc. seems to be prepping to launch its own; the successors of their Pixel and Pixel XL phablets. According to billboards, the company has reportedly put up in Boston, the rumored Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL smartphones could be launched on October 4th this year with earlier on reports that rumored that they phones would be launched on October 5th.
Android news outlet Droid-Life, which first reported about the billboards, also checked with local shops to confirm that the advertisement is indeed for an upcoming Pixel phone, rather than last year’s Pixels martphone, which was also launched on October 4, Gadgets 360 reports.
About the rumored specs:
Per recent reports, the supposedly Pixel 2 smartphone might have a “squeezable frame”, similar to the HTC U11’s. What this means is that the frame will be pressure-sensitive, and when held tightly, it will perform a range of actions such as opening the camera app.
Online reports, and reviews have also claimed that the, Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL will either be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC or 836 SoC. The Pixel 2 XL, at least, is expected to be made by LG and feature a 6-inch bezel-less display. In addition, the search-egine firm plans to also unveil Google Assistant-powered headphones – a smaller version of Google Home.
