The popular Beats By Dr. Dre Studio wireless headphones get a makeover and include Apple’s W1 chip, for better Bluetooth connectivity and battery life.
Beats By Dre’s refreshed line of Studio3 Wireless headphones promises improved noise cancelling, easier pairing and battery life of 22 hours or more.
These new headphones, available now for purchase at Apple.com for $349.95, may look like their predecessors, the Studio2, released in 2013, but there’s plenty of new technology inside.
Its Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling (Pure ANC) feature constantly tracks external noises — recalibrating up to 50,000 times a second — to block out sounds and improve your listening experience, the electronics maker says. The headphones boast 22 hours of wireless playback with Pure ANC on and up to 40 hours in the lower power mode.
Apple’s W1 chip, previously only found in-ear headphones such as the company’s AirPods and PowerBeats3, helps boost battery life, as well as automatically pairing with devices via Bluetooth and extending the range of wireless connectivity.
This is the first makeover of the over-ear headphones since Apple acquired Beats Electronics for $3 billion in 2014. Music mogul Jimmy Iovine and producer-rapper Dr. Dre co-founded the company in 2006 and introduced the original $300 Beats Studio model in 2008.
You can choose from six colors: Matte Black, White, Blue, Red and special edition colors Porcelain Rose and Shadow Gray.
