The Wolverines are 7-2 after a 33-10 win over Minnesota on Saturday.
ANN ARBOR — Michigan’s win over Minnesota on Saturday has moved it back into the AP Top 25.
The Wolverines checked in at No. 21 on Sunday, snapping a stretch of two straight weeks they were unranked.
Michigan (7-2,4-2 Big Ten) beat the Golden Gophers, 33-10, on a season-high 371 yards rushing. It joins Iowa as previously unranked Big Ten teams to crack the poll this week.
Meanwhile, Ohio State and Penn State, both losers on Saturday, have dropped out of the top 10. OSU fell 10 spots, to No. 13, following its 55-24 loss to the Hawkeyes, while PSU dropped nine spots to No. 16 after a 27-24 loss to MSU.
Wisconsin, at 9-0, remains the lone Big Ten team with a chance at the College Football Playoff. But the Badgers fell two spots themselves, to No. 6. MSU checks in at No. 13.
The Wolverines also saw a jump in the Amway Coaches Poll, rising two spots to No. 22. That has Wisconsin at No. 3, OSU at 11, PSU at 13 and MSU 16th. Iowa did not qualify.
Both polls have Alabama and Clemson the consensus No. 1 and 2 teams in the nation, respectively.
The poll that ultimately matters for playoff selection, the new College Football Playoff Top 25, will be unveiled Tuesday night.
