Over at Kickstarter, a new system that will quickly charge up the batteries on your smartphone using magnets, has raised more than five times the target amount of funding that the product developer was seeking. Called, the system is made up of four waterproof magnetic pods, each of which will charge in a base or a charging station that contains a 5000mAh battery. The base just charges the pods while the charging station doubles as a power bank. Since each pod will charge up an Apple iPhone 8 by 25% (over 30-minutes), you can use all four pods to bring the phone’s battery back to 100%. With many smartphone users carrying around a power bank all day, what is the advantage to using Finger Pow? Glad you asked! Some power banks can weigh a ton, and some are not exactly pocketable. But the Finger Pow pods can fit inside your jeans pockets quite easily. The product starts shipping to Kickstarter supporters in April. The Finger Pow Basic comes with four pods, two magnetic adapters, a charging cable and a base (does not double as a power bank) for $69. For $79, you can buy the Finger Pow Plus. The latter comes with four pods, two magnetic adapters, two keychains, one magnetic charging cable and one charging station (which doubles as a 5000mAh power bank). This is an interesting new charging solution because you can carry along extra modules and be covered for hours and hours of usage. If you suffer from Nomophobia, which is the fear of not having your smartphone up and running by your side, Finger Pow might be a handy cure.
