The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) is expected to sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED display. It might pack 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 2600mAh battery.
After launching the Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Galaxy A8+ (2018), Samsung now seems to be moving towards the first Galaxy J-series device launch of next year. The Galaxy J2 (2018) could be the first smartphone that Samsung might announce soon. The folks at Winfuture.de have revealed the renders and the specifications of the handset. The leak suggests that this entry-level smartphone will retail for €115 (around Rs.8,730). Let’s check what the smartphone will offer when it launches.
The smartphone is expected to sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with qHD resolution (960×540 pixels). The screen resolution is nothing new, but the new model will have a larger screen than the screen on the Galaxy J2 (2017). Furthermore, the device is expected to use Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.4GHz. Moving on to the RAM capacity, Samsung could equip the phone with 1.5GB of RAM. The phone is expected to have 16GB of internal storage. In addition to this, Samsung will most probably feature storage expansion through a microSD card slot.
On the software front, the device is expected to run the dated Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box even though it has been months since the launch of Android 8.0 Oreo. In terms of imaging, the Galaxy J2 (2018) could feature an 8-megapixel rear camera, while the selfie camera might have a resolution of 5 megapixels. As far as connectivity options go, the phone will support dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and 3.5mm audio port. The whole package will be powered by a 2600mAh battery. The Galaxy J2 (2018) is expected to hit the market in the coming weeks, starting with its launch in Russia.
