The Michigan men’s basketball team is hosting a Star Wars Day for Saturday’s game against UCLA.
UCLA is traveling across the country to play Michigan on Saturday.
Other attendees are coming from a galaxy far, far away.
Saturday is Star Wars day at Crisler Center. For $50, fans get a ticket to the noon men’s basketball game and a choice of one of two Star Wars t-shirts. Regular tickets are $40.
The promotional event, celebrating the iconic film franchise, includes photo opportunities with Star Wars characters. The first 500 fans who bring a toy for donation to Ann Arbor’s C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital will also receive a Michigan/Star Wars street sign.

UCLA is as celebrated in college basketball as Star Wars is among moviegoers. The Bruins won 10 national championships between 1964 and 1975 and reached the Final Four every year from ’67 to ’76. Star Wars picked up where the UCLA dynasty left off, with the first film coming out in 1977. All seven films in the series have been nominated for Academy Awards.
UCLA is 7-1 this season and hosts Montana Wednesday night. Michigan also hosted a Star Wars day last season.
Guess what Saturday is? It’s #StarWars Day
