„They’re going to start seeing the results…“
President Donald Trump arrived in Florida on Friday, ready to celebrate Christmas with family and friends at Mar-a-Lago, also dubbed the “Winter White House.”
He was clearly still feeling victorious after the passage and signing of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and he let his guests know it.
CBS reported:
President Trump kicked off his holiday weekend at Mar-a-Lago Friday night at a dinner where he told friends, “You all just got a lot richer,” referencing the sweeping tax overhaul he signed into law hours earlier. Mr. Trump directed those comments to friends dining nearby at the exclusive club — including to two friends at a table near the president’s who described the remark to CBS News — as he began his final days of his first year in office in what has become known as the “Winter White House.”
Trump has not been shy about his accomplishments in office during his first year, but he appears to be particularly proud of the tax bill. He told Cabinet members earlier in the week:
“They’re going to start seeing the results in February. This bill means more take-home pay. It will be an incredible Christmas gift for hard-working Americans. I said I wanted to have it done before Christmas. We got it done.“
Trump is set to spend the remainder of the Christmas holiday in Florida.
