The SpaceX billionaire is holding a fire sale on flamethrowers.
Elon Musk is holding a fire sale.
The space tycoon added flamethrowers to his Boring Company inventory for a cool $500 Saturday night.
“Say hello to my little friend,” Musk tweeted, sharing photos and video of himself and employees gleefully brandishing the incendiary weapon.
Musk suggested in December he would set his eyes on the weapon, and like his traffic-skipping stunt to drill a tunnel to his California headquarters, it was unclear if he was serious.

He was apparently very serious about producing flamethrowers and made 20,000 of the fire-spewing weapon. The pre-orders went live Saturday night and Musk said there had already been about 1,000 pre-orders.
Customers began sharing screenshots of their successful orders to Musk.
Buying a flamethrower does not require a background check like other firearms because it is not regulated by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, according to a 2015 report from CNN .
The same report states they’re banned in Maryland and California, where they’re considered “destructive devices.”

Musk failed to elaborate on realistic uses for flamethrowers, except for roasting nuts.
“When the zombie apocalypse happens, you’ll be glad you bought a flamethrower,” the SpaceX and Tesla CEO said. “Works against hordes of the undead or your money back.”
His Boring Company site states that “aspiring flame thrower aficionados will be sent a terms and conditions rhyme for review and acceptance” before shipping, which is slated for spring.
He is also selling admittedly overpriced fire extinguishers, just in case.
