UCF’s football team was recognized Sunday during the Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium.
The undefeated UCF football team continued its magical victory tour Sunday at the Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium.
The Knights, who finished 13-0 after beating Auburn 34-27 in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1, were recognized after the first quarter despite heavy rain. UCF previously was honored with a parade at Disney World and a rally downtown.
With UCF at the Pro Bowl, it got us thinking. How many former Knights actually have played in the NFL’s all-star game?
That’s 21 overall berths. Not bad.
Bouye, a cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, made one tackle in the AFC’s 24-23 victory against the NFC.
When the former FSU running back made the Pro Bowl after his rookie season in 1997, his size differential made him stand out.
“I was small,’’ said Dunn, who was listed at 5 feet 9 and 180 pounds when he played. “It was like, ‘What is this kid doing in this locker room?’ I looked like a baby.’’
If the NFL Flag Championships were any indication, the best flag football is being played in Arizona.
Teams from the Grand Canyon State won titles in the 9-10 coed, 13-14 boys and 13-14 girls divisions. Only a victory from a squad from Ohio in the 11-12 coed category kept Arizona from a sweep.
Sixty-six teams from the United States, Canada, Mexico and China participated. The 13-14 boys final was held Sunday at Camping World Stadium. The other finals were at Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday and Saturday.
The NFL has an option to return its all-star game to Camping World Stadium for a third year in 2019. The AFC prevailed 20-13 last year.
