Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has finally made the under-display fingerprint sensor official on the Vivo X20 Plus UD, which has been launched in China. This phone is the first to sport an under-display fingerprint sensor.
While the Vivo X20 Plus is an already existing smartphone from the company, the under-display fingerprint sensor is the new addition to it. The company has incorporated Synaptics Clear ID 9500 in-screen fingerprint sensor in the smartphone. It is close to the bottom of the screen, allowing you to use fingerprint on your display.
The Vivo X20 Plus is an existing device from the company. However, they have now added an under-display fingerprint sensor on the phone and the company is selling it as a China-exclusive phone. Starting with the display, the device comes with a 6.43 inch full HD+ AMOLED panel with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Coming to optics, the phone comes with a dual rear camera setup. The device comes with a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5MP sensor. On the front, it comes with a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and soft selfie-flash.
In terms of hardware, the Vivo X20 Plus UD is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. It is coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device also supports expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and comes with FunTouch OS skinned on top for added features and a fluid user experience.
Lastly, the device is powered by a non-removable 3,900mAh battery which should easily deliver a full day of power. For connectivity, the Vivo X20 Plus UD comes with a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm earphone jack, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and 4G VoLTE capabilities. The device is expected to be priced at around 3,998 Yuan, which roughly translates to Rs. 39,900.
