Germany added to its medal count on Thursday night with a first place finish in the luge mixed team relay in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Feb. 15 (UPI) — Germany added to its medal count on Thursday night with a first place finish in the luge mixed team relay in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
The defending champion German team — which has women’s singles champion Natalie Geisenberger and doubles winners Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt — won the gold medal at 2:24.517, followed by Canada at 2:24.872.
Austria was third at 2:24.988 at Olympic Sliding Centre in PyeongChang, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul
The team relay competition was the last luge event at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Germany took three gold, one silver and two bronzes to reaffirm its top dog status in luge.
