Home invaders beat KimRolf so badly, they broke her nose, eye socket and vocal chords.
Kim Rolf said she just got in bed about 11:30 the night of November 17th, 2017 when three intruders broke into her home.
„They barged in and all I could see was a clown mask ready to hit me and then I was out,“ Kim Rolf said.
KETV reports Rolf, a retired VA nurse, said she doesn’t know how much time elapsed as she was in and out of consciousness.
„I had no use of anything and I had a gag in my mouth. I was gasping for air and I thought, ‚this is it. This is the end of my story,'“ Rolf recalled. „Then I went out because they hit me again.“
Rolf, 43, said she was home alone. Her teenage children staying at their father’s that weekend.
„It’s a nightmare. It’s a true nightmare,“ Rolf said.
Rolf said CT scans show she had 17 blows on her head. Ten on the skull, 7 on her face.
„I was being strangled. My hands were tied behind my back,“ Rolf said.
She said one intruder held a gun to her head demanding money. They choked her so hard, she said they broke her vocal chords. They also left her with a broken nose, broken eye socket, stitches and plenty of bruises and scratches.
Rolf believes this assault was random.
„If they knew me, they knew they wouldn’t have to do all those things to keep me down,“ Rolf said. „What am I going to do run down the street.“
This mother couldn’t escape because she lost a leg in 2009 after being involved in a head-on crash.
„Losing my leg was nothing compared to this, nothing, “ Rolf said.
But that loss then may have saved her now. She said when the intruders found the cash in her purse, they also found pain killers.
„He immediately put the gun back in his coat and said if i moved he would kill me. I did what he was told,“ Rolf said.
She said she eventually managed to get help from a neighbor and call 911.
Council Bluffs police are still looking for the attackers and said the leads have run dry.
If you can help, call police. 712-328-7867.
Rolf still has surgeries to endure and is looking for a place to live. She said she can’t back to the home on Ash Street.
