A handful of games release on Xbox One every week, ranging from AAA titles to lesser-known indie games. Xbox Wire compiles many of these releases, but misses a few and does not give any recommendations. Here are some of the games coming out the week of February 26 through March 4 that we think you should check out. Among the releases are the remastered versions of Turok and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil from Night Dive Studios.
Deep Rock Galactic will be launching into Xbox Game Preview starting next week. It is a co-op FPS featuring fully destructible environments in procedurally-generated caves filled with endless alien threats. As a space Dwarf, it’s up to you and a few friends to collect the valuable resources that the aliens are guarding. Deep Rock Galactic is an Xbox Play Anywhere title and will be Xbox One X enhanced with HDR support.
The classic dinosaur hunting FPS Turok is finally gracing our televisions once again. Remastered by Night Dive Studios, Turok features a new visual engine that restores its dated graphics. It still looks like a game from the 1990s, but it’s much easier on the eyes with clearer visuals. You play as the time-traveling warrior Turok who must find the eight pieces of the shattered Chronoscepter, an artifact of great power, scattered across the environment to defeat an evil overlord who plans on ruling the universe.
Like its predecessor, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil has also been remastered for Xbox One by Night Dive Studios. It’s a similar case of having improved graphics while still appearing like a game from the late 1990s. Turok is back again to restore peace in the ancient world. This time, an ancient evil has awoken and Turok must stop Primagen from merging the Earth with the nether world. As usual, you’ll be fighting prehistoric beasts along the way.
This wasn’t exactly what people wanted when asking for a new Portal game, but Bridge Constructor Portal is actually really fun once you get into it. Combining the Bridge Constructor series with the physics and humor of Portal, you’ll play through Aperture Labs as GLaDOS tests your abilities across dozens of chambers. Darkest Dungeon, described as a challenging gothic roguelike turn-based RPG, tests player’s mental prowess while battling monsters through forests, crypts, and dungeons. Not only are you up against tangible threats, but you’ll also be facing stress, famine, disease, and the darkness. Your fledgling group of warriors will have to defeat the horrors surrounding your family’s ancestral estate.
Immortal Redneck, Gravel, de Blob 2, Riftstar Raiders, Switch or Die Trying, The Story Goes On, Shoppe Keep, Mulaka, and Pit People all release next week on Xbox One as well. If any of these look like they may interest you, give them a shot and try them out for yourself.
