Austin Police discovered a confession tape from the bombing suspect where he detailed how he made the bombs, the police chief said Wednesday.
The police came across a 25 minute recording on a phone where bombing suspect Mark Conditt explained in detail about the bombs he made and how he identified the differences between the bombs, Austin Police Department Chief Brian explained during a Wednesday night press conference.
“We have, at this point, located a recording that the suspect in this incident made. It is about a 25 minute recording where he talks about what he has done. I would classify this as a confession,” Manley said.
Austin Police Chief Brian Manley: “Having listened to that recording, he does not at all mention anything about terrorism, nor does he mention anything about hate. But instead, it is the outcry of a very challenged young man talking about challenges in his personal life…” pic.twitter.com/ruMcVSk14m

Conditt did not talk about terrorism but instead laid out challenges that may have caused him to attack people in the Austin, Tx., area, Manley added.
Conditt died Wednesday after self-detonating a bomb during a police chase. Police believe he was the one behind a series of six bombings in Austin that claimed the lives of two people and injured four others.
