NEW DELHI: As expected, HMD Global, the company that holds the licence to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones, has announced a launch event in India. The company has started sending out invites for a launch event scheduled for April 4 in Delhi. It is expected that the company might launch the smartphones it unveiled at
MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.
The invite reads, “Hello, we welcome you to Explore. Express. Create. Reimagine. We welcome you to discover the N-powered city of tomorrow.”
It is expected that the company might launch Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco, and Nokia 8110 4G at the event.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is the company’s new flagship smartphone. It is the successor of the last year launched Nokia 8 smartphone. The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The device sports a edge-to-edge 5.5-inch pOLED 2K display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and dual rear cameras (12MP+13MP) with ZEISS optics.
The Nokia 7 Plus comes with a 6-inch full HD+ IPS LCD screen and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and offers 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage (with microSD card support up to 256GB). There’s 12MP+13MP dual rear cameras with f/1.7 and f/2.6 aperture and ZEISS optics lens. The front camera is 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Nokia 6 2018 is the new version of the Nokia 2017 smartphone. Running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, the smartphone comes with 5.5-inch full-HD IPS LCD display. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. In terms of camera capabilities, the device boasts of a 6MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture along with an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Lastly, the Nokia 8110 4G is the The slider handset from Nokia which now supports VoLTE calls and 4G connectivity. It runs on Smart Feature OS and is powered by Qualcomm 205 dual core processor, packs 4GB storage, 512MB LPDDR3 RAM. There’s a 2.4-inch QVGA curved display and comes with a 2MP rear camera as well.
