Lava has today launched the Lava Z50 in India, making it the first smartphone in India to come with the Android Oreo (Go edition) OS. Other than the OS, the smartphone comes with a camera which features Bokeh mode and LED flash on both front and back. The Lava Z50 also allows the user to search in 10 major Indian languages besides image search, weather, and translation from the home screen.
Airtel has already announced a partnership with Google to bring cheap smartphones running the Android Oreo (Go edition) to the Indian market under the “Mera pehla smartphone” campaign. The Lava Z50 is available at a price of Rs. 4,400 and Airtel is offering Rs. 2,000 cashback with the smartphone which brings the effective price of the smartphone to Rs. 2,400. The device was announced during the MWC 2018.
The Lava Z50 comes with a 4.5 inches display with FWVGA (854×480) resolution and 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla glass protection. The smartphone is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M SoC. It comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The smartphone is running the latest Android Oreo (Go edition) operating system which is optimized to run on the smartphones featuring 1GB or less RAM. The Lava Z50 supports dual SIM cards, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Coming to the camera, the smartphone features a 5MP shooter on both sides of the smartphone with LED flash. The smartphone is powered by a 2,000mAh battery which is enough for a smartphone running on Android Oreo (Go edition).
The Lava Z50 smartphone comes in Black and Gold colors and is priced at Rs. 4,400. The device is available on Flipkart, Amazon, and Snapdeal. The customer will also get 2 years of warranty and a cashback offer of Rs. 2,000 from Airtel.
