911 caller: Slaying suspect has Alzheimer’s
MANSFIELD, Ohio — An Ohio man described in a 911 call as having Alzheimer’s disease was arrested Friday on a murder warrant in connection with the death of his wife, authorities say.
Clyde Manley, 79, is being held at the Richland County Jail.
The body of Barbara Manley, 65, was found Monday at her residence in Mifflin Township, authorities say.
In a 911 call, a woman told dispatchers her father has Alzheimer’s and had said her stepmother went to Florida.

„Let me explain. My dad has Alzheimer’s,“ the 911 caller said. “He said my stepmom went to Florida and he just came to the house, and my son told me to call for help. I don’t know if he found my mom…. Please send EMS. I don’t know if she’s hurt or what’s going on.“
She told the dispatcher she and her son needed the coroner at the scene and that she believed that all guns and ammunition had been removed from the residence.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene Monday night and an autopsy was performed Wednesday at the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Richland County prosecutor Gary Bishop could not immediately be reached for comment Friday afternoon.
Clyde Manley is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Mansfield Municipal Court.
