Nintendo announces the next Nintendo Direct event, airing tomorrow March 8 at 2:00 pm PT, which features new details on both Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles.
With anticipation running at a high, the Big N has officially revealed plans for the next Nintendo Direct event. Fans won’t have to wait too long either, because the announced date for the next Nintendo Direct is tomorrow, March 8. The event will start at 2:00 pm PT/5:00 pm ET and its run-time will be roughly 30 minutes. Focusing on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS titles, there’s certain to be announcements in-store that appeal to every Nintendo fan.
While Nintendo is saving the biggest reveals and announcements for tomorrow, the company did acknowledge one game that is guaranteed to be shown. Mario Tennis Aces, which was announced in January, will have new details shown during tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct. The continuation of the popular Mario sports series will likely be showcased due to its planned release window in Q1 2018, which could mean the next weeks or months.
While no other games or announcements have been revealed for tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct, recall that Nintendo’s E3 Direct was also 30-minutes long. Nintendo is capable of filling that window of time with a lot of announcements, both big and small.
The lack of official details regarding the Nintendo Direct hasn’t slowed down the Nintendo community’s speculation, however. Most rumors have to do with any number of Nintendo first-party games being announced, or release dates being revealed for previously announced titles like Metroid Prime 4, Fire Emblem, or the Pokemon title for Switch. While anything’s possible, the content of this Nintendo Direct will likely focus on spring and summer releases. The bigger announcements would likely be preserved for E3 in June.
There has been some reliable rumors related to the Nintendo Direct that’s worth considering, however. The Vandal_Leaks Twitter account – created on March 5 – was the first to leak the date of tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct. The date was later reiterated by the semi-reliable Marcus Sellars. The two appear to disagree on what may be coming at the event, however.
According to Vandal_Leaks, forthcoming announcements include Fire Emblem‘s summer release on Nintendo Switch, Travis Strikes Again gameplay, Ever Oasis Sagas, and premium DLC for Super Mario Odyssey and Pokken Tournament. Sellars has made no direct comments regarding what’s to be announced at the event, but has mentioned in the past day Diablo 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Fortnite for the Switch.
To see what Nintendo officially has planned, tune in tomorrow at 2:00 pm PT on the official Nintendo Direct website.
