Samsung has quietly launched a new variant of its latest Galaxy smartphones — the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in India. Starting today, a 128GB variants of both the handsets will be available in the country via both online and offline channels.

The new variants will come in three colours — Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple, said the company in a statement.
While the new 128GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S9 is priced at Rs 61,900, the Galaxy S9+ is priced at Rs 68,900. To recall, both handsets were earlier launched in 64GB and 256GB versions. While the Galaxy S9 has 4GB RAM, the Galaxy S9+ comes with 6GB RAM.
One of the biggest highlights of the latest Galaxy smartphones is the AR support that uses a data-based machine learning algorithm.
Just like its predecessors, both Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ come with Infinity Edge display, which basically means 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch Quad HD + Curved Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S9+ features a 6.2-inch Quad HD + Curved Super AMOLED screen.
The handsets differ in terms of camera specifications as well.
While the Galaxy S9 has a single Super Speed Dual Pixel 12MP AF sensor with OIS (F1.5/F2.4), the Galaxy S9+ has a dual rear camera setup of two 12MP modules out of which one is a telephoto lens and other is a wide-angle lens. Both devices have an 8MP front camera for selfies. Supporting wireless charging, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is backed by a 3000mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy S9+ packs a 3500mAh battery.
The duo run on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system topped with the TouchWiz UI of the company and are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 processor.
