NEW DELHI: Television brand Vu launched its first Android Nougat-based smart TV in India. With the new range of TVs the company gears up to give a tough competition to Xiaomi. The Chinese manufacturer entered the Indian TV market last month with the launch of its frameless Mi LED Smart TV 4. The Xiaomi TV gained a lot of attention because of its aggressive pricing and features. We compared both the TVs from Vu and Xiaomi to see which excels the other in terms of specifications….
Screen size: Vu Android 4K UHD LED TV vs Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 The Vu Android 4K UHD LED TVs come in three different screen sizes — 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch. On the other hand, the Mi LED Smart TV 4 comes only in one screen size of 55-inch.
Operating system: Vu Android 4K UHD LED TV vs Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 The Smart TV from Vu runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and the company has also announced that the device will receive Android 8.0 Oreo update by the second half of the year. While, Xiaomi’s smart TV is also based on Android and is topped with the layer of company’s own PatchWall UI layer and the company has not announced anything about the OS update.
Refresh rate and contrast ratio: Vu Android 4K UHD LED TV vs Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 Both the TVs from Vu and Xiaomi offer the same refresh rate 60Hz and contrast ratio of 6000:1.
Screen resolution: Vu Android 4K UHD LED TV vs Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 The Vu Android TVs offer 4K UHD display with 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution. The Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 also comes with the same display resolution, but its bezel-less display and frameless design claims to offer a better user experience in this price segment.
RAM and internal storage: Vu Android 4K UHD LED TV vs Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 The Vu Android 4K UHD LED TVs come with 2.5GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The internal storage can be used to store the app and games. Whereas, the Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 offers 2GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. The company claims that the internal storage will be utilised for the timely updates rolled out by the company.

In terms of connectivity options, the smart TV from Vu offers WiFi, Bluetooth, 3 x HDMI, 2 x USB and Ethernet Port. On the other hand, the Mi LED Smart 4 TV offers dual band Wi-Fi (802.11ac), three HDMI ports, two USB ports and Bluetooth v4.0 as connectivity options.

The smart television from Vu offers complete support for Google Play Store and apps like YouTube, Netflix, HotStar and others. Along with this, the users can also download any other game or app they want. On the other hand, the Mi LED smart TV don’t offer support for YouTube,Amazon prime and Netflix. The company is working with various content creators for the various TV Shows.
Price in India
The Vu Android 4K UHD LED TVs comes with a starting price tag of Rs 36,999, while the Mi LED Smart TV 4 is priced at Rs 39,999. Both the TVs are exclusively available online on Flipkart and offline on the authorised retail stores.
