The Bombers inked the veteran to a minor-league deal on Friday.
„Great opportunity, it’s the right situation for myself,“ Lind said. He said he had one other minor-league offer, but elected to join the Yankees.

Lind, 34, has split his time in the majors between the outfield and first base, but Yankees GM Brian Cashman is only interested in him playing at first.
Lind spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Blue Jays before bouncing around between the Brewers, Mariners and Nationals the last three years.

The Bombers want to avoid a situation like 2017, when Bird missed significant time and backup Chris Carter turned out to be a disaster before ultimately being released.
Lind, who can opt out of the deal later in spring training, has a career .272 average with 200 homers and 723 RBI.
