Ahead of first lady Melania Trump’s 48th birthday, President Donald Trump shared what she means to him and offered supporters an opportunity to sign an electronic card for her.
Newsweek reported an email with the subject line, “My better half,” from the Trump Make America Great Again Committee encouraged subscribers to join the first family in celebrating the first lady.
“Melania is my rock and foundation, and I wouldn’t be the man I am today without her by my side,” the president wrote in the email.
He added that Melania is the “cornerstone” of their family and an “incredible mother to our son, Barron.”
“I’m so proud of her accomplishments, and I hope you’ll wish her well on her special day,” the sentiment concluded.
The email included a link to a webpage, where supporters could enter their contact information and leave a birthday message for the first lady.
Melania turned 48 on Thursday and Trump told Fox News‘ “Fox & Friends” that he gave his wife a card and flowers to commemorate her birthday because he’s been very busy and didn’t have time to shop for a present.
“I better not get into that because I may get in trouble,” he said. “And she did a fantastic job with France.”
The first lady’s birthday comes weeks after the FBI raided Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen’s office and seized documents relating to the alleged affair he had with adult film star Stormy Daniels.
