Google Chrome OS gets a native video recorder and password exports with the latest update. The latest version 66 of the Chrome OS has received a number of small additions like a new Material keyboard Shortcut Helper app, Instant Tethering etc.
Google has recently rolled out an update for the Chrome OS (version66) that beings a set of improvements and features to the OS. We all can see how the Chrome OS is being developed with constant updates being rolled out to the OS. As for the recently added features are concerned the list includes media autoplay restrictions, autoplay, Meltdown mitigation and some other features.
Along with the latest version of Chrome, there are also a bunch of new policies that govern when media can autoplay in Chrome 66. Also, there is a new feature called ‚Export Password ‚option under the Manage Password which allows the users to download a list of credentials stored in Chrome OS. Also, all of the Chrome OS devices are now patched against Meltdown CPU vulnerability, which comes into effect after the KPTI mitigation.
As per some sources from the web, the Chrome will now be able to record video directly from its native application. However, the feature is still not available for Google’s desktop OS and there is no information as well on when will the Google’s desktop OS will receive this feature. The update is said to be useful for a number of camera apps that are available at the PlayStore.
The report further states that this particular feature has also been added to the updated Chrome OS (version 66) update. It is also being speculated that most of the Chrome OS users might also find the feature handy while recording webcam videos. The introduction of the video recording feature might not come as a surprise keeping the fact in the mind that more Chrome OS tablets are now being released on the market.
Further, the latest version 66 of the Chrome OS has received a number of small additions like a new Material keyboard Shortcut Helper app, Instant Tethering along with some other additional Android-related features. It is expected that the update will be available for download for all the users in coming couple of days.
