Ubisoft announces the date and time for its E3 2018 press conference, where fans should expect news about The Division 2, Beyond Good and Evil 2, and more.
E3 2018 is one of the biggest games industry events in the world and it kicks off in just over a month. Major developers and publishers in the industry have already unveiled their plans, with Bethesda recently announcing its own press conference. Today, the list of confirmed press conference events has grown by one, as Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed developer and publisher Ubisoft has revealed some of its E3 2018 plans.
In a bright and bold animated GIF posted to its official Twitter account, Ubisoft confirms that its E3 2018 press conference will be taking place on Monday, June 11 at 1PM PT. The company implores its fans to “save the date” and also teases that “more [details are] to come.”
Unfortunately, the GIF doesn’t offer many clues on what Ubisoft fans should expect come June 11, but the company has already confirmed at least one reveal and fans can also make some educated guesses. Ubisoft officially announced The Division 2 last month, confirming that the game is built on an updated version of the Snowdrop Engine which powered the first game. Reports also suggest that the game will have the largest development team of any Ubisoft game ever. Ubisoft has promised that it will offer a more substantial look at The Division 2 at E3, so that’s at least one confirmed title.
Fans can also expect Ubisoft’s E3 2018 press conference to feature Skull and Bones and potentially Beyond Good and Evil 2. Skull and Bones is the pirate action game and new IP that was announced at E3 last year and fans will be keen to see how the game can hold its own, standing up against other pirate games like Microsoft’s Sea of Thieves. Meanwhile, Beyond Good and Evil 2 was one of the biggest surprises of E3 2017 but the game was also in very early development at the time, so perhaps E3 2018 will shed light on how development is progressing.
In terms of unannounced titles, a Ubisoft mobile app appears to have leaked Watch Dogs 3, so that could be set for an official reveal during the company’s E3 press conference. Additionally, a Splinter Cell game has been listed on Amazon while references to the iconic stealth series have been spotted in other Ubisoft franchises (including Far Cry 5) so that could be one of the major reveals of the event too. Ubisoft is known for hosting impressive E3 events so it will be worth keeping a close eye on whatever the company is working on.
