One person is dead after a crash in Alva Sunday.
Two cars were traveling in opposite directions on Palm Beach Boulevard toward when they collided. Authorities said a woman was turning left onto Joel Boulevard when she was hit by a driver coming across the intersection. Witnesses said the second car had a green light. Both cars flew into a ditch.
The driver of the first was a 21-year-old woman from Labelle who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the second car were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash closed the eastbound lanes of Palm Beach Boulevard until the scene was cleared.
