The families of Japanese citizens kidnapped by North Korean agents decades ago have urged Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to seek help from the United States to bring them back home at an early date.
During a meeting Monday with Abe, Shigeo Iizuka, head of a group of the families, said he wants U. S. President Donald Trump to demand strongly that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un return the abductees.
In response, Abe said he will inform Trump of the importance of resolving the abduction issue.
