Scotland’s minimum alcohol price went into effect today, and it’s downright embarrassing.
The minimum cost of a drink that contains 14 units of alcohol in Scotland now is at least $10.20, according to CNN.
CNN reported the following on how the law works:
Spare me the dramatics. I thought we were supposed to have freedom in the West. We’re supposed to be the advanced societies. What is advanced about pricing alcohol so that poor people can’t have it? That’s not what freedom is at all.
Trump should deploy the military to the streets to stop something like this from ever happening here in America. We just can’t allow ourselves to live in a civilization where I can’t grab some cheap bear. It’s simply a situation that can not be allowed under any circumstances.
Would Miller Lite be illegal? Would Bud Light still be sold? What about an ice cold Busch Lite? I shudder with terror at the thought.
It’s just another example of why America is the absolute best. Nobody can compete with us. You can be buying an AR-15 one moment and then grabbing a cheap beer the next. That’s what freedom is all about.
This just looks like another reason I shouldn’t be in any hurry to head overseas.
