“I’ve never actually broken a bone except for now,“ she said.
Millie Bobby Brown knows better than to head to a red carpet on crutches.
The “Stranger Things” star took to Instagram on Friday to let her fans know she split her kneecap and won’t be attending the 2018 MTV Movie Awards.
“I’ve never actually broken a bone except for now. I have split my kneecap,” Brown said with her crutches in view. “From the doctor’s orders, he told me to rest up. So I won’t be attending the MTV Awards this weekend.”
Referring to the injury as “a milestone” in her life, Brown showed her knee brace in the post, but didn’t disclose how it happened.
The actress sent her best wishes to her castmembers as “Stranger Things” is nominated for six awards this year. Brown, herself is nominated for Best Performance in a Show and Best Kiss (which she shared with castmate Finn Wolfhard).
“I hope Gaten, Caleb, Finn, Sadie and Noah have the best time,” Brown continued in her video. “And I love them so dearly, so I wish you guys the best and I’m sending my luck with you. And I’ll be there in spirit.”
Last year, Brown took home the award for Best Actor in a Show.
The 2018 MTV Movie Awards air on Monday night and will be hosted by Tiffany Haddish.
