Black List script will receive financing from production venture American High
Looks like Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson won’t be planning a summer wedding — the latter just booked a starring role in a new feature comedy.
The “Saturday Night Live” star will topline “Big Time Adolescence,” a comedy from director Jason Orley (who also wrote the 2014 Black List screenplay).
Davidson will play a charismatic college dropout who helps a teenage boy come of age (mostly by getting into trouble). Filming will begin in July. Griffin Gluck, Sydney Sweeney, rapper Machine Gun Kelly, “The Mick” star Thomas Barbusca and Oona Lawrence will co-star.

“This is a story I’ve wanted to tell for a very long time, and I am so unbelievably grateful to the team at American High for giving me the chance to bring it to life,” Orley said in a statement. “I also couldn’t think of a better partner than Pete Davidson to lead our incredible cast.”
Will Phelps, Glen Trotiner, Mason Novick and Jeremy Garelick will produce. American High, a joint production venture between Garelick and Mickey Liddell’s LD Entertainment, will fully finance the project, which is currently seeking distribution.
Davidson recently starred in the Netflix Original “Set It Up” with Glen Powell and Lucy Liu, and was also featured in Amy Schumer’s “Trainwreck.”
