Undead Labs releases a massive 20GB patch for State of Decay 2 that looks to address a number of problems with the game, including bugs and stability issues.
Since its launch last month, where it debuted on the Xbox Game Pass service, State of Decay 2 has received some criticism for a variety of issues. Studio Undead Labs has taken this feedback into consideration, and has released a massive 20GB patch that looks to address a number of lingering issues with the game.
The 20GB version 1.2 patch for State of Decay 2 most notably tackles issues related to the game’s performance, improving the game’s stability and reducing its tendency to crash. Networking issues have also been addressed, and players should find themselves less likely to be kicked from multiplayer games after downloading the update.
The 20GB version 1.2 update for State of Decay 2 also makes some improvements in other areas as well. For example, it fixes a bug where the camera would become detached from the player when they get in a vehicle, and another where grenades would become stuck in front of the player’s face when trying to throw them.
Other gameplay improvements in the patch deal with zombies and survivors in the game. Upon downloading the update, players should no longer run into an issue where zombies were immune to the Assault Kick attack. Meanwhile, survivors will stop “popping up onto props” while moving through the game world.

The fixes are wide-ranging and in general, look to improve the gameplay experience for everyone playing. However, even with this massive update, it’s clear that there are still some other issues that Undead Labs will need to address, so players should expect the State of Decay 2 experience to continue improving with future patches.
Besides addressing bugs and fixing other problems with the game, future updates for State of Decay 2 will likely add new content. As one of the Xbox One’s console-exclusive titles of 2018, fans should be able to expect Microsoft to dedicate a great deal of resources to State of Decay 2, and continue supporting it for months to come.
State of Decay 2 is out now for PC and Xbox One.
