What you really need to know about Apple’s WWDC 2018, including the event’s dates plus all the latest WWDC rumours and news.
WWDC 2018 will take place at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California from June 4 through June 8. June 4 is the date you’ll want to mark on your calendar, though, as that’s when Apple’s big WWDC 2018 keynote will take place.
Tim Cook and the rest of the Apple clan will take to the stage at 6pm BST (10am PDT, 7pm CEST) to discuss its latest software-based innovations. And, who knows, we could even see some new hardware. The event tends to be the second biggest Apple get-together of the year, behind its September iPhone launch event.
The keynote will be streamed live on the firm’s website for fans all over the world to come together and watch the action unfold in real-time.
Apple is almost certain to use WWDC 2018 to unveil new versions of its mobile operating system, iOS 12, as well as its computing OS, macOS version 10.14. The firm’s watchOS and tvOS platforms are also due an update of some kind.
That’s not to mean it won’t bundle any new features, though. It will. Mooted improvements include ARKit tweaks, and a stronger focus on ‘Digital Health’, which Apple hopes will help us disconnect from our devices more easily.
MacOS and WatchOS announcements should also feature prominently.
Although hardware announcements are less likely, there are still a couple of rumours flying around.
Although there are hopes that Apple might reverse the decision to drop every port aside from a single Thunderbolt 3 jack, we can’t exactly see Apple going back on such a bold design choice this soon.

With the recent addition of external GPU support to MacOS, we have a sneaking suspicion Apple might use the event to announce a low-powered affordable MacBook with budget specs, but then boast about its eGPU support.
This HomePod could take the form of a cheaper $250 (around £190) model, according to one analyst, and could feature Beats branding.
