Redmi 6 Pro will be the first ever Redmi phone to come with a notched display.
A lot has already been rumoured about the third Redmi 6 series phone, aka Redmi 6 Pro. A report that leaked earlier this week claimed at June 25 launch of the Redmi 6 Pro. Until now there was no confirmation of the launch timeline from the company. But, Xiaomi has now officially confirmed the existence of the phone and has also teased to launch the Redmi 6 Pro on June 25 in its home market. Meanwhile, another report claims that Xiaomi will be launching the complete Redmi 6 series including Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and also the Redmi 6 Pro in India in the next two months, most likely in August.
Xiaomi, on Wednesday, posted an official poster in Chinese microblogging site, Weibo confirming the June 25 launch date of the Redmi 6 Pro. The company also confirmed some of the key specs of the phone via the teaser poster. Xiaomi has confirmed that Redmi 6 Pro will come with 19:9 display, meaning the phone will come with an iPhone X-like notch on the top of the display. Having said that, Redmi 6 Pro will be the first ever Redmi phone to come with a notched display.
The official poster also confirmed that Redmi 6 Pro will come with a massive 4000mAh battery and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, as rumoured. Additionally, the poster also reveals that the Redmi 6 Pro will come with AI-powered cameras.
On Wednesday, a few live images of the Redmi 6 Pro leaked online, flaunting an iPhone X like notch on top of the display. The images reveal a tall display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and in-display navigation keys. The images show only the front design of the phone. The notch of the top of the display is seen incorporation the selfie camera, earpiece and some sensors.
Earlier last Redmi 6 Pro was spotted on TENNA certification site. The listing revealed some specs details of the Redmi 6 Pro. It suggests that the Redmi 6 Pro will come with a 5.84-inch display with Full HD+ (2280 × 1080 pixels) resolution and will run Android Oreo with MIUI 10 UI out-of-the-box.
The TENNA listing also reveals that the Redmi 6 Pro phone will come in three RAM and storage options. The base model with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The second one with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The third and the most expensive of the three will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The storage can be expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
The listing revealed the camera spec also. The Redmi 6 Pro is expected to come with dual 12MP cameras on the back. Below the camera, the phone will include a circular fingerprint sensor. On the front, the phone will include a 5MP single camera. Sadly, rumours say that it will not support fast charging.
Alongside the Redmi 6 Pro, Xiaomi will also launch Mi Pad 4 on June 25.
