Bharti Airtel, which is one of the leading and dynamic telecom company in the country, has made a sudden and surprise revision to its postpaid plans, which come at a cost of Rs 799 and Rs 1,999. The data benefits of these two plans have been increased substantially that it would be now difficult for any other telcos to compete with the current offer of Airtel.
The revised plan of Rs 799 is offering its subscribers with whooping 100GB of data per month which used to be 70GB Internet data a month earlier. The revised plan of Rs 1,999 is offering a whole lot of 120GB data for a month, which used to be 90GB data for a month before.
It can be seen that Airtel is making this colossal offer to take on one of its rival companies, Vodafone India. Vodafone’s revision to its RED postpaid plans is the instigating factor for Airtel’s new revision to the postpaid recharge plans. Airtel was also found revising its Rs 649 plan lately to offer 85% increased data benefit.
After which, the company has stepped foot on Rs 799 and Rs 1,999 plans to revamp for their betterment. However, there are no clear reasons stated as to why the basic postpaid plans of Airtel have not been revised yet. The entry-level plans of Airtel that come at a cost of Rs 399 and Rs 499 are still offering the same old benefits.
To draw out a comparison between Airtel and Vodafone, Vodafone currently does not offer a postpaid plan between Rs 499 and Rs 1,299. Whereas, Airtel is offering three postpaid recharge plans within the same range. This ends up beneficial to Airtel network. To add to that, Airtel’s revised plan of Rs 1,999 is now offering 120GB data a month, and Vodafone RED Plan is offering 100GB data a month at a bit higher rate of Rs 1,299.
To extend the study, it can also be seen that both Airtel and Vodafone RED plans are offering benefits such as unlimited free local, STD, and national calls without roaming and FUP charges, 100 free SMSs allocated for a day, free subscription to Amazon Prime app for a period of one year, and data rollover facility. The selling point of Airtel postpaid plans is its free add-on option that comes along with these postpaid plans of Rs 799 and Rs 1,199. The company is offering two child connections with Rs 799 plan and three child connections with Rs 1,199 plan. The child connections come at a free of cost along with these postpaid plans.
Earlier, the company used to charge Rs 99 for every number to be added along with a parent connection. This means that Rs 799 can be used by three numbers including the parent connection. Similarly, Rs 1,199 plan can be used by four connections including a parent connection. After last week’s revision in Rs 649 postpaid plan of Airtel, Rs 649 plan can also be utilized by two numbers. This is the most attractive part of Airtel postpaid plans that is lacking in other telecom network providers.
Although Vodafone RED claims to add a connection to a parent number, it needs some extra amount to be paid in order to get hold of the same benefits of a plan from a different number. However, the add-on service comes at a free-of-cost in Airtel network. It is promised by the company that the revision of the postpaid plans will be effective on the device from next billing cycle.
