Just in time for the birthday celebration, Epic Games announces two new skins and back blings coming to Fortnite Battle Royale for Founder’s Pack owners.
It’s a big month for Fortnite as Epic Games is using July to celebrate the first anniversary for the massively popular third-person shooter. Epic previously announced the addition of in-game events for both Save the World and Battle Royale players, which goes live tomorrow. However, the developer has a few more tricks up its sleeve as its also planning on releasing a few more skins for Founder’s Pack owners.
In a Tweet earlier today, the official Fortnite account posted a picture of the Warpaint and Rose Team Leader outfits for Battle Royale players. All Founder’s Pack owners will be gifted these legendary outfits for the Battle Royale mode once the 5.10 update arrives. These outfits also come with the Pursuit and Skirmish Back Bling, which can be equipped to any outfit the player has already unlocked.
The timing is fairly interesting as Save the World is currently 50% off the normal retail price and picking up a copy grants founder status. On the other hand, Epic has previously stated that a free to play version of Save the World is coming sometime in 2018, with recent rumors indicating that it could be as soon as sometime this season.
However, once the game does go free, the founder’s status goes with it, preventing players from getting access to all of the founder content including these new skins. Being considered as a Founder was always intended to be a sort of badge of honor for those who decided to take the plunge during the early access portions of Save the World.
Starting tomorrow, Fortnite’s first birthday update arrives and adds new birthday content for both Battle Royale and Save the World players. On the Battle Royale side, simply challenges will unlock new birthday themed content such as a birthday cake back bling, new emoticons, as well as additional XP. Save The World players can take part in a special birthday-centric quest while also earning tickets to spend on Birthday Llamas that may feature heroes from previous holiday events as well. Finishing the quest chain will give players access to a special hero character known as Birthday Brigade Ramirez.
Fortnite is currently available for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and is set to release in the Summer of 2018 for Android.
