Three on the back, two on the front, five overall
A new report making the rounds today indicates that the top-of-the-range S10 will feature a dual selfie camera as well, in addition to a triple camera configuration on the back. This means this particular S10 version could bring a total of five different cameras.
If these new rumors prove to be accurate, Samsung may launch three Galaxy S10 versions, mostly in an attempt to compete against the 2018 iPhone trio landing in September.
First, it’s going to be the standard Galaxy S10, which according to the same source is codenamed Beyond 0. Surprisingly, this model could come with a flat 5.8-inch display to serve as a direct successor to the S9. It could feature a dual-camera system on the back and a fingerprint scanner not integrated into the glass but placed on the side of the phone a la Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
The intermediate model is referred to as Beyond 1 and comes with a 6.2-inch curved display. This could be the entry-level Galaxy S10+ and launch with a triple rear camera, namely 12MP wide + 12MP tele + 16MP fixed-focus 120-degree super wide angle, plus a single front camera for selfies. This time, the fingerprint sensor could be placed under the screen and not on the side.
The flagship of flagships could be Beyond 2, a 6.44-inch Galaxy S10+ which features the same in-display fingerprint sensor, a triple rear camera system, and a dual selfie camera possibly borrowed from the Galaxy A8.
The unveiling could take place in early 2019, with tipsters currently pointing to January and February as the most likely dates to witness the launch of the S10 lineup.
