VIENNA TWP., MI – Two sisters were killed in a car crash Monday evening in Genesee County’s Vienna Township, just east of Clio.
The women were driving at 6:54 p.m. on July 30 on highway M-54, turning on to M-57, when they pulled into the path of a pickup truck and were killed, according to Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell.
He said the sisters‘ vehicle had a red light and he does not know why they proceeded through the intersection.
The names of the women killed in the crash have not been released as of Tuesday morning.
The pickup was driven by a 15-year-old girl who had her learner’s permit and was accompanied by her father, Pickell said.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor, according to Pickell.
