Manziel’s CFL debut with Montreal will come Friday.
Vernon Adams didn’t care for the fans asking for Johnny Manziel.
Now he’ll have to watch the former Heisman Trophy winner from the bench.
Manziel, acquired by the Montreal Alouettes acquired Manziel earlier this month via trade will be starting against his former team, Hamilton, on Friday night.
That should make fans happy, who spent to the last game bellowing „We want Johnny!“ to the dismay of Adams.
Adams even called it „disrespectful,“ obviously forgetting one of the most popular guys on the team is the backup quarterback, ex-Heisman winner or not.
„Yes, it hurt me to hear that. I have nothing more to say or to give to the supporters of Montreal. Never again,“ Adams said. „Their behavior was very disrespectful. It was not like I was playing badly.
„I do not want them to ask me anything, not even a small piece of equipment. My performance was not perfect, but I think I played a pretty good game overall.“
Yikes. I wouldn’t hold your breath on a „We want Vernon!“ chant, Mr. Adams.
