It looks like you’ll now have easier access to your Wii and GameCube emulation needs, as the Dolphin emulator has returned to the Google Play Store. It was removed from the platform two years ago.
The Dolphin emulator has been around for ages, slowly adding improvements, and making things better for those interested in emulating the GameCube and Wii consoles. Although the team behind the project has maintained an Android version, it was not easily available, due to the app being pulled from the Google Play Store. Luckily, today marks the return of the Dolphin emulator to the Play Store.
There isn’t much information attached to the notes on the Google Play Store, but the developer does aim to update the app on a regular basis. Despite it being available for Android, the app is not currently compatible with Android TV boxes like the Nvidia Shield. But this should be remedied sometime in the near future.
If you are interested in trying out the emulator, you can either head to the Google Play Store and search for the app or just hit the source link down below. This might be obvious, but the emulator does not come with games preloaded and you will need to supply your own.
