In Fortnite Season 5 Week 7, players can collect a free hidden Battle Star after completing all of the challenges, and here is how to find it on the map.
Fortnite Season 5 Week 7 is now upon us, and that means a fresh chance to hoover up some Battle Stars, progressing through this season’s Battle Pass, and unlocking some additional cosmetics. The Week 7 challenges are now live, letting players complete objectives to earn Battle Stars, but as always, there’s a free Battle Star up for grabs if players know where to look.
Eagle-eyed fans will have spotted the clue for this week’s free Battle Star in the new loading screen. The loading screen shows several Fortnite players ducking for cover as the Motel sign comes crashing down, as a newly opening rift smashes the location to smithereens.
Look closely in the background of the picture and one will see the faint outline of the collectible Battle Star near the stone ledge right next to the Motel pool. It’s easy enough to go and grab, but it’s important to note that the Battle Star is only available for those who have completed all of the Week 7 challenges. Going to the location before they have completed the challenges will see one coming up empty-handed.
For those less versed in the game’s map, Fortnite‘s Season 5 Week 7 Battle Star location is highlighted on the map screenshot above. The Motel is on the northern edge of the Fortnite map, to the left of Lazy Links, and to the north of Loot Lake. Once players have located the free Battle Star, they only need to hold the interact button in order to collect it and get one step closer to getting some new cosmetic unlocks.
For some additional help on locating the free Battle Star, some players have already put together videos which walk others through it. The video below from Tabor Hill provides some extra help.
As the YouTuber notes, many other Fortnite players will have also had the same idea regarding the Battle Star. As such, it’s advised that players collect the weapon and item spawn from the pool before collecting the free Battle Star. This way, they will have a way to defend themselves if that player should get combative.
Moreover, some players may use the Battle Star’s location to their advantage, camping there in order to get some free kills by taking out others who are on the hunt. That just highlights why it’s so important to stay prepared – even if accessing the free Battle Star is otherwise fairly easy to do.
Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. An Android beta is currently taking place.
