NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone brand Oppo has unveiled its flagship smartphone Oppo R17 Pro in its home country. The smartphone comes with water-drop notch screen and a triple rear camera. Another USP of the smartphone is its support for SuperVOOC, the fast-charging technology of the company.
Oppo R117 Pro sports a price tag of CNY 4,299 which translates into Rs 44,000. The new Oppo smartphone is the company’s first with triple rear camera. The back panel of the smartphone houses 12MP primary sensor with f/1.5-2.4 aperture, PDAF and dual pixel.
Then there is a 20MP secondary sensor which comes with aperture of f/2.6. The third sensor is a 3D stereo camera which until now has always been used in the front for 3D face unlock. However, the company claims that the 3D camera on the back enables users to capture 3D pictures using the Oppo R17 Pro.
The smartphone features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution and 91.5% screen to body ratio. It is also the first smartphone in the world to come with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The handset also comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor just like the Oppo Find X.
The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system topped with company’s own layer of customisation and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. The smartphone offers 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The company has not included microSD card support in the smartphone, which means that the users will not be able to add more storage to the device.
Another main highlight of the smartphone is its battery. The Oppo R17 Pro packs two batteries of 1,850 mAh each which makes the total to 3,700 mAh. The company claims that this division will enable the smartphone to charge faster with the help of SuperVOOC technology. Oppo claims that with just 10 minutes of charging, the smartphone can get charged up to 40%.
The smartphone will go on sale in China starting mid-October this year.
