President Donald Trump on Friday conceded that his efforts to get North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons have so far failed — but he nonetheless had nice words to say about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
In a Friday afternoon tweet storm, the president revealed that he has “asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo not to go to North Korea, at this time, because I feel we are not making sufficient progress with respect to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”
Trump then put the blame on China for the impasse in progress on the North Korea deal, as he claimed that the Chinese government was secretly helping North Korea as retaliation against the United States over tariffs placed on Chinese imports.
