Amazon has announced a new service which will allow Alexa to listen to any suspicious sound or activity when you’re not at home. Called the Alexa Guard, it will activate once you say “Alexa, I’m leaving” and will track things like sounds, including breaking glass or smoke or CO2 alarms.
Amazon has also included Away Lighting, that uses machine learning to turn smart lights on and off, in patterns that seem natural, to deter intruders by making it look like someone is home. Moreover, Amazon is working with Ring and ADT to make sure there’s someone to take action if something goes wrong. Once the user says “Alexa, I’m leaving”, the device will go into Away mode and track every sound and look for something suspicious. If they identify something fishy, the device will send notifications called Smart Alerts to the user’s phone as well as an audio clip. The customer then can take appropriate action or forward Smart Alerts to Ring and ADT, allowing them to determine if additional action should be taken.
Not only that, but Amazon has also announced a new Ring Stick Up Cam with both wired and battery options. The Ring Stick Up Cam Wired and Ring Stick Up Cam will cost $179.99 and will be available later this year.
