Essential has been doing a great job of keeping things up to date on its phone. Last month it delivered Android 9.0 Pie and today, it has released Google’s September security update.
Last month, Essential shocked many in the Android community by releasing Android 9.0 Pie for its handset just moments after Google’s release. It looks like the firm is ready to keep things rolling as it has now issued an update for the PH-1 that will include Google’s September security updates.
Essential announced the news via its own Twitter account. The update, build PPR1.180905.036, will come in at 81.4MB. According to the supplied notes, the update will also offer „various audio and accessibility fixes“.
When updates are issued, they typically hit unlocked models first and then at some point, make their way to carrier-branded devices a little later. The Essential Phone was offered on Sprint in the United States and on Telus in Canada. If you are curious whether the update is now available on your device, be sure to head into the settings, system menu, system update, then check for the update.
