Motorola on September 10 launched the Moto G6 Plus in India, its most expensive G series smartphone till date. The smartphone doesn’t quite justify its premium pricing, it does have a few impressive features that might appeal to some Motorola fans out there.
16MP Front Camera: One of the key features of the Moto G6 Plus is a 16MP front camera. It should be noted that the Moto G6 Plus global variants come with an 8MP front-facing camera. Only the India-specific variant of the smartphone is equipped with a 16MP selfie camera, which Motorola claims allows up to 300 percent more light in. The selfie camera comes with a group selfie mode and has an LED flash as well for impressive low-light selfies.

Smart Dual Camera: The Moto G6 Plus features 12MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with various creative modes like spot color, selective black and white, portrait mode, and more. It comes with Google Lens integration as well, which means you identify landmarks and objects around you, scan text documents, read QR codes and more. The Moto G6 Plus is also capable of 4K Ultra HD video capture.
Splash Resistance: Moto G6 Plus features a p2i water repellent coating, which helps protect it against accidental splashes. Not many budget Android smartphones come with a water repellent coating, so this is certainly one feature that differentiates the smartphones from its rivals. However, the Moto G6 Plus is only splash resistant and not water resistant.
TurboPower: Motorola’s latest G series smartphone comes with a 3200mAh capacity built-in battery that is claimed to deliver all-day battery life. It comes with a TurboPower charger in the box, which is claimed to give you hours of battery life from just minutes of charging.
Max Vision Display: The Moto G6 Plus features a 5.9-inch Max Vision IPS LCD panel with 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer on top, the Max Vision Display comes with Moto Display and Night Mode features as well.
Motorola has priced the Moto G6 Plus at Rs.22,499 in India. It is now available for purchase online exclusively via Amazon.in. Customers can also purchase the smartphone at Moto Hubs and other offline retail stores across the country. In terms of color options, the company has only launched one option for the Indian market – Indigo Black. As for launch offers, customers purchasing the Moto G6 Plus offline can get Rs.3,000 cashback when shopping using the Paytm Mall at a store. Reliance Jio subscribers can receive benefits of up to Rs.4,450 on recharge of Rs.198 and Rs.299 plans. Additionally, Reliance Jio will also provide instant cashback vouchers worth Rs.2,200. Motorola Moto G6 Review: On The Verge
The Moto G6 Plus runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 14nm processor clocked at 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 508 GPU. It features 6GB of RAM an 64GB of internal storage. Thanks to a dedicated microSD card slot, users can expand the storage further by up to 256GB. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C port, and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone measures 160 x 75.5 x 8.0mm and weighs 167 grams. It runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system currently but Motorola has confirmed that the smartphone will be receiving an upgrade to Android Pie.
