NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is gearing up to the launch its next flagship device — OnePlus 6T. Following various leaks and rumours, the company recently confirmed that the OnePlus 6T will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor in an interview to CNET.
The company revealed that the in-display fingerprint sensor will be called Screen Unlock and will also affect the design of the smartphone. The company shared a screenshot in order to confirm this feature. The same screenshot also consists of a date which is likely the launch date of OnePlus 6T.
As per the screenshot, the OnePlus 6T will be launched on October 17 at 11.00 am. Until now the company has launched a new flagship smartphone within five month of the previous launch. For instance, the OnePlus 3 was launched on June 14, while the 3T was unveiled on November 15. Similarly, the OnePlus 5 was introduced on June 20, and the 5T was launched on November 21. This clearly indicates that the OnePlus 6T will be launched in October as the OnePlus 6 was launched in May this year.
However, this is all speculative and the company has not yet revealed any official date of the launch.
Rumoured specifications of OnePlus 6T
The OnePlus 6T is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and run Android 9.0 Pie operating system. The smartphone is expected to come with the 6.28-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED screen. The CNET report suggests that the 6T will be 0.45mm thicker than its predecessor and may come with triple rear-cameras.
