The Oppo spin-off brand Realme launched a new budget smartphone in India alongside the Realme 2 Pro. It is called the Realme C1 and is priced at just Rs 6,999. The latest budget smartphone from the Chinese upstart brand that comes with a large 6.2 inch display for its price and it touted an impressive battery life, which apparently is also the strong point of Xiaomi’s Redmi line of devices; a whopping 4230mAh battery. It is expected to face stiff competition, especially, from the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro. The latter is available for sale in the country at a starting price of Rs 7,999.
The Realme C1 comes with pretty impressive specifications, especially, for its budget price tag. The budget Realme smartphone is set to go on sale from October 11 on Flipkart. So without further ado, let’s find out the top 5 features of the Realme C1.
The Realme C1 misses out a waterdrop notch display, but that was pretty much expected at this price range. That being said, the smartphone’s display does come with a notch, a rectangular one to be precise, similar to the one present in the current generation iPhones. It’s a 6.2 inch HD+ (1,520 x 720p) IPS LCD panel that comes protected with a 2.5D curved glass.

Under the hood, the Realme C1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor. This is the same mobile platform that’s found inside the Realme 2, which was launched in India back in August. It is a capable budget chip, and can effectively carry out most of the tasks you throw at it. That being said, it isn’t really a great chip for gaming, but then again the Realme C1 is not really built keeping in mind the needs of the gaming enthusiasts.
The Realme C1 comes with a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 13MP f/2.2 primary sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 secondary sensor. The unit is backed by a Phase Detection Autofocus sensor and a dual LED flash. Furthermore, the camera app on the phone comes with a ton of AI tweaks. There is also a variety of shooting modes.
One of the major highlights of the Realme C1 is its battery. It packs a large 4230mAh battery despite being just 8.2mm slim. This battery is expected to last through a day and half of heavy to moderate usage.

Another interesting feature in the Realme C1 is the presence of Face Unlock. It is backed by a robust AI technology that makes the unlocking process smooth and secure. The budget smartphone, however, misses out on a fingerprint sensor.
Apart from the Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor, the Realme C1 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Additionally, users can expand the memory of the phone to 256GB by incorporating a microSD card. Other features of the Realme C1 includes a 5MP f/2.2 selfie shooter, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS+, USB OTG and Dual SIM with 4G VoLTE.
The Realme C1 runs on Android Oreo 8.1 with ColorOS 5.1 on top. It comes in two colour variants, Blue and Black. It is priced at Rs 6,999, but do note that Realme claims it to be an introductory price for the upcoming festive season. The budget device will be available on Flipkart starting October 11 at Rs 6,999.
