Asus is ready to launch two interesting and mysterious smartphones today. The company recently sent out cryptic media invites and posted an equally obscure tweet that offered no indication about the devices it will unveil today. Given the teasers that have appeared strategically on Flipkart, We strongly believe the “Two New Smartphones” that Asus will unveil could belong to the Asus Zenfone sub-brand and destined for the budget conscious Android market segment. However, the teaser has put forth some interesting claims.
Media invites sent by Asus in India confirm a launch event by the Taiwanese smartphone maker. The company has categorically refrained from announcing or even hinting at the smartphones. However, we believe Asus is launching two devices under the popular Zenfone sub-brand. The devices are headed to Flipkart, as the eCommerce platform has put up a dedicated teaser page, but none of the organizations have come forth with detailed information.
The launch event for the two mystery Zenfones will take place in New Delhi. The event is scheduled to start at 1:30PM. Asus put out a tweet from its official handle revealing the date. The image in the tweet also carries the Flipkart logo, which clearly indicates that the two Asus smartphones will definitely sell exclusively on Flipkart.
Asus has also reached out to media publications in India with invites for the launch event. The teaser image also states that this is a global launch. In other words, Asus has chosen India as the first country to launch its two smartphones.

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 has proven to be a great success for the company. The aggressively priced Android smartphone successfully challenged several Xiaomi smartphones. The handset launched earlier this year and Asus has managed to sell around a million units of the multiple variants of the smartphone. Asus cleverly challenged Xiaomi by offering competitive specifications and features. However, Asus went a step ahead and ensured the Zenfone Max Pro M1 offered a stock Android operating system. Xiaomi smartphones, meanwhile, run on custom MIUI layer atop Android OS. Asus even observed the market dynamics and priced the Zenfone Max Pro M1 very aggressively.
Smartphone enthusiasts could safely assume that Asus could launch successors of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1: Max Pro M2 & Max M2. But, the teasers say Asus could be planning to launch two budget smartphones that could be priced below the Rs. 10,000 price point, making them an attractive buy against Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 Series and Honor smartphones like the Honor 7C, Honor 7S, Honor 9N, etc. Then there is no chance of being Max Pro M1’s successors.
The teaser on Flipkart makes some strong claims about the mystery Asus smartphones that will launch today. In the question form, the teaser implies the budget smartphones will have speed, performance and gaming prowess. It mentions the processor will be octa-core and the device will have “powerful” RAM. It is quite possible Asus may deploy a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 or 600 Series processor, and embed 4GB RAM. The second claim is about battery life. The teaser promises the devices will have battery packs that will last for two days of usage.
