HMD Global has given us the first look at the design of what could be the long-rumoured Nokia 7.1 Plus. The Nokia brand licensee has been teasing a “Mega Display” device for a while now, which is now thought to be the Nokia 7.1 Plus. It has shared an official poster that gives us the first glimpse at the design language it will be implementing with the handset and reaffirms the October 16th China launch date.
Set to launch on October 16th in Beijing, the Nokia 7.1 Plus can be seen sporting the same notch display and Nokia-branded chin. However, the phone can be seen sporting new elements compared to its sibling launched earlier. For starters, we can see the display glass on the handset curving slightly. While this is not a dramatic curve like that found on Samsung’s Galaxy S-series flagships, it’s a detour from Nokia’s industrial blocky design.
Coming to the specs, earlier leaks have tipped that the Nokia 7.1 Plus will come with a 6.2-inch IPS LCD bearing 2,246×1,080 pixels screen resolution. The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC backed by Adreno 616 GPU. It’s being speculated that it will come in two configurations – 4GB + 64B and 6GB + 128GB. In the imaging department, the upcoming phone is said to come with 13MP + 12MP dual camera setup on the back and a 20MP selfie shooter. The handset is speculated to boot stock Android 8.1 Oreo and be powered by a 3,400mAh battery.
Unfortunately, these are all hearsay at the moment, so we suggest taking the information with a pinch of salt. The smartphone will be launched tomorrow in China and we can expect an India launch before the year ends. We will bring you more accurate details as the handset goes official, so stay tuned.
